Are you looking for a way to get started in the adventure sport, kayaking? Adventures Unlimited is offering beginner level kayaking clinics on the Tennessee's Ocoee River. The kayak lessons will focus on building confidence and having fun in a kayak
The first day begins with an introduction to the instructors, equipment, and skills necessary to have a good day on the water. Our small class will then go to a nearby stretch of flat water to begin the fun. We will go over the wet exit (exiting the boat while upside down) to ease some fears and then move on to learning how to roll the kayak. Hip-snap drills, proper body position and paddling techniques will also be covered. |

After lunch, then we will move to flat, moving water and work on various techniques such as paddling, turning the boat and learning to accelerate; with an introduction into bracing techniques, ferrying and eddy catching. The river will help give examples of basic water dynamics, the principles of tracking, and the strength of moving water. The second day continues with a review of day one and then onto some basic rescue techniques. This day of paddling will give everyone the opportunity to practice all of the skills they have learned in the clinic.
Don't Have Any Equipment?: Don't worry. We provide all of your equipment from boats to sprayskirts, lifejackets, helmets and paddles. |

Special Notes: Lunch is included for both days. Camping at Adventures Unlimited is also included in the price of the clinic. Don't Forget to Bring: Sport Sandals, Fleece or Polyester Top (Long Sleeve), Wool Socks, Sunscreen, Waterproof Disposable Camera, Chums for Glasses, and a Big Smile.
